One week with us

Day 1 : Discover the « Cote Sauvage » with our free bikes, or you can walk along the sea, otherwise, you can drive for 30 or 40 km with your car from La Baule up to La Roche Bernard. Visit the lovely city of Le Croisic, Piriac, Kerhinet. You can also go to the beaches.

Day 2 : Visit the amazing swamps around Guerande : « Les marais salants de Guérande. » Then, you must stroll in the medieval city of Guerande in the afternoon !

Day 3 : Go to the popular market in Le Pouliguen or la Baule and take the time to discover the shops. Go to La Baule and play Casino, go shopping in the famous De Gaulle Street.

Day 4 : Discover the Atlantic Shipyard : Les Chantiers de l’Atlantique.Queen Mary 2, Harmony of the sea were built in Saint Nazaire.

Day 5 : Go to « les marais de Brière » and take the boat to visit this original area.

Day 6 : Visit Nantes city, go to the « machines de l’Ile », walk in the passage Pommeray, and if you have time, go to the lovely city of trentemoult.

Bon Jour (Port), a very nice brasserie with a monthly menu. You can go there for the tapas version. You’ll find attractive prices: Muscadet sausage/purée for 13 euros, mussels, fish, and meat. Very nice decor. No reservation required.

L’Opéra de la mer: (Harbor Promenade) in the harbor, fish, and shellfish, a typical Pouliguen address. Closed Wednesdays. 0240623103

Mamie Nenette (Port): A very nice restaurant with inventive crêpes! (Former chef at the Royal in La Baule). Service is generally fast, but don’t hesitate to let us know if you’d like to take your time.

The QG Beach (on the beach): a trendy spot, but above all, very good. Karine recommends the fried monkfish 🙂 Reservations are essential, as it’s very popular! 02 40 53 29 09

Crep’ap’art (next to the church). Fresh, organic produce, and a charming welcome. 02 40 42 33 12

Café Jules: (Port): A real brewery, homemade… and that… it’s great! 02 40 42 31 79

Une pizza à la mer, a good pizzeria

Le Bateau Ivre: (Port): Daily special, the famous sardines, pancakes. A must in Pouliguen… 02 40 42 31 52

Bulot/Mayo (Les Halles): Enjoy delicious oysters with a small glass of white wine in a good mood! You’ll also find rillette boards and charcuterie (seasonal).

Le Barapom (in the harbor), the pancakes to enjoy by the harbor, and a very, very friendly team, we love them!

L’Aporrhais (7 minutes by bike) Shellfish, fish, and seafood. A no-frills restaurant… but everything is on the plate. Karine recommends the razor clams, Steph the sea sauerkraut. Magnificent sea view. Open Wednesday to Sunday at 02 40 23 39 64 (don’t forget to make a reservation!!!)

Le Derwin, seafood. A dreamy sea view… but sometimes you have to be patient. No reservation required (closed Tuesdays and Wednesdays and only in season).

Coco: Trendy restaurant! Spectacular view. Really good dishes, even if the title doesn’t inspire dreams.

Le Duc d’Aiguillon: excellent crêperie

Chez Fred l’Ecailler: oysters, tapas

Le bac à sable: beautiful location, very good food at reasonable prices

Tante Germaine: excellent crêperie in an authentic setting

Le Bistrot de la poissonnerie: seafood and fish platters

Le Cap Horn: small restaurant, good food and good value for money

Les Canetons: a beach restaurant we highly recommend; the service is super friendly and the dishes are good. (Open in winter)

Au Bord de l’O: crêperie and aperitif menus at reasonable prices. Top-notch team.

Les Sablons: Seafood and pancakes, a no-fuss must-try in La Baule. Sea view. (Closed Wednesdays) 02 40 11 36 11

La Villa, French gastronomy at attractive prices

Le Vieux Logis: A warm welcome and high-quality products.

La P’tite Franquette: A very good, reasonably priced menu.

Roc Maria: Authentic crêperie, try the « Le Curé Nantais » cheese pancake.

The chambre d’hôtes is Bed and Breakfast done with typical French panache:
– The hearty breakfast, which is always included in the nightly rate, is an opportunity to try out local specialities. Depending on the season and on your host’s inspiration, you’ll enjoy home-made jams, fresh country bread, Viennese pastries and home-made pastries, cheeses and dairy products, and even regional charcuterie. These moments of friendship will get your day off to a great start.
